🚦 Safer Streets Ahead for Ward F 🚦 In response to rising concerns about reckless driving, dangerous intersections, and infrastructure gaps, Councilman Frank “Educational” Gilmore has launched the Ward F Traffic Safety & Infrastructure Plan — a community-driven roadmap to make our streets safer, more reliable, and more connected. ✅ What’s in the plan? • Safer Intersections: New lights, stop signs, bump-outs & pedestrian-first signals. • School Zone Safety: Four-way stops, speed reductions & safer crossings at every school. • Park Access: Redesigned crossings so kids & families can safely enjoy Arlington Park and more. • Transit Upgrades: Push for more frequent NJ Transit buses + modern sheltered bus stops. • Corridor Overhauls: Safer redesigns for MLK Drive, Communipaw, Bergen, Garfield & more. “Traffic safety isn’t just about convenience it’s about equity, opportunity, and quality of life,” said Councilman Gilmore. “This plan puts residents’ voices at the heart of every solution.” Recent improvements on Monticello Avenue already show what’s possible when government and community work together. Remembering Two Extraordinary Educators

The Jersey City community lost two remarkable women in 2023: Luz Hernandez, who inspired kindergartners at Beloved Charter School, and Temara King, whose dedication to students with special needs at Dr. Michael Conti School was unmatched. Both left a legacy of love, passion, and service. During the 2nd Annual Extraordinary Women Awards, Councilman Gilmore honored them with scholarships, ensuring their commitment to education and the meaningful difference they made in students’ lives will continue to shine for generations to come.
